Motherhood is a wild and wonderful thing. If you know me personally, you know that falling into the role of mama didn't come as easy in some ways as I expected it to. Other ways are far better than I ever dreamed! But through the journey, I do know this: I'm so incredibly grateful for the mothers who have gone before me and the mothers who walk beside me. We need each other in this wild and wonderful thing called motherhood!
To all the mamas; the ones whose children are grown and who no longer have a regular plate at the table, to the mamas who said goodbye to their babies before they took a breath, to the moms of toddlers and teens, to the mothers whose babies are brand new to this world or not even born yet, and to the moms who now make the very best grandmas,
happy mother's day.
It's sweet and it's hard; the pain is deeper and the joys are richer than we ever knew. We may never finish a cup of coffee while it's still hot again but we wouldn't trade it for the world! In the words of my sister, they keep us awake every night, and we forgive them every morning.
Children are not a distraction from more important work.
They are the most important work.
