Real Life: November

Remember that blog circle I joined up with at the beginning of the year? I can't believe it's been a year of posts! I'm so grateful to have been a part of such an incredible group of photographers. Encouraging each other to pull out the "big cameras" for the day-to-day and having a place to share the images we make has been invaluable in helping me remember to document my own daily life.

Here's my November entry; photos are from a week or so ago when I visited Thatcher Woods with some friends in the peak of fall color! It was a beautiful day, and our children were delighted to crunch every leaf they could find.

De La Cruz Family

When we moved to Chicago last December, we didn't know many people at all. But the city and its people were friendly, and Adri was one of the first to welcome me. We "met" on Instagram, and when she requested family photos to be taken in the peak of fall, I was honored! Adri is a photographer herself, and she makes beautiful use of light in her images. She's doing a Photo-A-Day project this year, and its so inspiring to see the way she documents the everyday moments of her life. Take a look; I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I loved blending in to the trees in Palmer Square and watching this sweet family interact and play together. The evening of their session was perfect. It was early fall and the leaves had just begun to turn to autumn hues. The sun was golden...need I say more?

It doesn't get any better! Thank you for entrusting me with the honor of documenting your family, Adri & Manuel. It truly was an honor.
