FAQ

Where you located? Do you travel? I live in Brooklyn, NY and love to travel. Contact me if you have something in mind!

When should we schedule my session? I’m available to shoot every day of the week. Mornings and evenings work best for families, and I always have more availability on weekdays than weekends.

Where should we do the session? We have options. (1) Your home or neighborhood is the place you’re the most relaxed and comfortable, and will always be my favorite place to photograph families. It doesn’t have to Pinterest-perfect to be beautiful! (2) Planning your session around a favorite event you share as a family is a great way to capture some unique and meaningful photos. It can be as simple as a walk to your favorite park or a cross-city outing. (3) I have my own favorite places throughout the city for on-location sessions, and we can collaborate about the best spot to capture the heart of your family.

Do you have a studio?  I do not have my own studio, as most of my sessions are on-location or in-home. I occasionally rent studio space to fit the specific vision of a project, and if that’s what you need, let’s talk!

What should I wear? …asked everyone ever! Most people think this is the hardest part of a photo session, but please don’t overthink it! Do wear something comfortable that makes you feel like yourself. Don’t wear matching shirts. Do wear colors and layers and textures. Don’t worry about it. Do check my Pinterest board for inspiration.

I’m nervous! Everyone feels a little nervous before photo day! I allow plenty of time for you and your family to feel comfortable with me and my camera, and work at a pace that best fits your schedule and needs. There will be plenty of time for meltdowns (it’s ok - they happen in my home too!), snacks, and taking time to breathe. Those in-between moments are where the magic happens, anyway.

Will you tell me exactly what to do? Sometimes! I give plenty of guidance and reassurance, but you’ll often notice me stepping back to let you be yourselves. I prefer a hands-off approach rather than stiff poses and will always give space for the real, candid moments to shine through.

How many photos will I get in my gallery? Each session varies, but clients typically receive 40-60 images for each hour of shooting time.

Do you offer packages? Prints? Albums or art? I offer a few hand-selected photo products that can be purchased a la carte; packages are too confusing! Detailed product info can be found here, and I’m happy to direct you to my favorite sources if you want to DIY your photo displays.

Do you offer mini sessions? Yes, occasionally! I always announce mini sessions on Facebook and they tend to book very quickly. Send me an email if you have a specific question about booking a shorter session.
