Where you located? Do you travel? I live in Chicago and love to travel. Contact me if you have something in mind!

When should we schedule my session? I’m available to shoot every day of the week. Mornings and evenings work best for families, and I always have more availability on weekdays than weekends. Click below to view my calendar.

Where should we do the session? We have options. (1) Your home or neighborhood is the place you’re the most relaxed and comfortable, and will always be my favorite place to photograph families. It doesn’t have to Pinterest-perfect to be beautiful! (2) Planning your session around a favorite event you share as a family is a great way to capture photos that are both unique and meaningful. It can be as simple as a walk to your favorite park or a cross-city outing. (3) I have my own favorite places throughout the city for on-location sessions, and we can collaborate about the best spot to capture the heart of your family.

Do you have a studio?  I do not have my own studio, as most of my sessions are on-location or in-home. I occasionally rent studio space to fit the specific vision of a project, and if that’s what you need, let’s talk!

What should I wear? Most people think this is the hardest part of a photo session, but please don’t overthink it! Do wear something comfortable that makes you feel like yourself. Don’t wear matching shirts. Do wear colors and layers and textures. Don’t worry about it.

I’m nervous! Everyone feels a little nervous before photo day! My full sessions allow plenty of time for you and your family to feel comfortable with me and my camera, and I work at a pace that best fits your schedule and needs. There will be plenty of time for calming meltdowns (no shame—they happen in my home too), snack breaks, and taking time to breathe. Those in-between moments are where the magic happens, anyway.

Will you tell me exactly what to do? Sometimes! I give plenty of guidance and reassurance, but you’ll often notice me stepping back to let you be yourselves. I prefer a hands-off approach rather than stiff poses and will always give space for the real, candid moments to shine through.

I'm unsure if I should book a Full, Half, or Budget Session. If you have younger children or feel really nervous about having photos taken, a Full Session will allow time for everyone to feel comfortable. Your images will display connection and natural beauty—lifestyle images like the ones in my people gallery. Half Sessions are quick, efficient, and will give you fewer images focused on group shots. Budget sessions are even shorter; more like a mini session. We’ll have time for about 2 poses. Email or call me if you're still uncertain and we can talk about what might work best for your family.

Do you offer other packages? I think packages are confusing! I offer three simple price points to accommodate a variety of budgets, and every session booked includes all images. I won't try to charge you more money later. Let me know if you need something specific, and I'll work with you!

What about prints? Albums? Wall art? I've hand-selected some beautiful photo products that can be purchased a la carte, and professional-grade prints are available from my photo lab (and I don’t charge an arm and a leg!). Ordering is simple and can be done through your personal gallery. I can also direct you to my favorite sources if you want to DIY your photo displays. I highly recommend that you print your photos as a keepsake (scrolling through pics on your phone doesn't have quite the same effect!), and I'm here to help you with whatever way you chose.

Do you offer mini sessions? Yes, occasionally! I announce mini sessions via email first and they tend to book very quickly.

Not ready yet? Have another question? Email me. I'm happy to talk!
